Role: Team Manager of the Data Science at RTL.

Bio: Miguel is originally from Portugal. After completing his PhD in Eindhoven, he worked as a researcher and as a professor in different universities in Portugal. Then he moved back to The Netherlands, where he joined Booking.com as a Data Scientist first and later became a Data Science Manager. He was the Head of Data Science and Analytics at two different start ups and now is working at RTL.

PhD student in full-page personalization, specifically focusing on unbiased and diverse video recommender systems, at the University of Amsterdam in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Bio: Jingwei has a BSc degree from Central South University in Changsha, China, and a MSc degree from Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, both in Data Science.

Bio: Dan settled in Maastricht 7 years ago to study the Ba Arts & Culture at UM, an interdisciplinary humanities/social science degree that introduced her to the field of Science and Technology Studies (STS). Having fallen in love with STS, she stayed in UM to do the MSc Cultures of Arts, Science, and Technology. Throughout her studies she was often interested in exploring the intersection of epistemology, technology, and politics.

MSc. Dina Zilbershtein

PhD student at DACS, Maastricht University, working on designing a fair and transparent ad recommendation system for a VOD platform. The key challenge of her work is finding the right balance between the needs of all stakeholders: viewers, advertisers, and the platform itself.
